One of my favorite parts of blogging is having blogger friends, women you feel connected to when you haven’t even met. Then when you finally get to meet them in real life, finding out whether they are the same as their digital self.
I can tell you that Liz from Love Grows Wild is just as warm, kind, inspiring, and stylish as you would imagine from reading her lovely blog, of which I have long been a fan. I was lucky enough to spend some time with her in September when we attended the Better Homes and Gardens Stylemaker event in NYC. When I found out she was publishing a book, I was so excited for her- I could only imagine that it was a huge amount of work, but the feeling of accomplishment must have been incredible!

She was sweet enough to send me an advance copy of her book A Touch of Farmhouse Charm, which is now available here. You can tell by the title that this book was naturally something I would be interested in! Goodness does Liz deliver… tutorial after inspiring tutorial of ways that you can bring farmhouse charm into your own home with projects both small and large.
I don’t know about you, but now that the holidays are over, I’m ready to get back to work on my house. This book sparks plenty of inspiration for ways that I can bring the farmhouse look I love into our home.
You may have noticed if you caught my last few seasonal home tours that I’ve accumulated quite a large collection of wooden candleholders. More than I reasonably need, if truth be told. So I decided to use one of Liz’s tutorials to add some interest to these candleholders.
This is the Lime Wash technique from A Touch of Farmhouse Charm. I followed the technique Liz detailed in the instructions to create the same look on my candleholders.
The paint sat in the detail beautifully.
I can’t wait to try out the other tutorials in the book! There’s a wooden ladder that I have my eye on for my family room. To see more, make sure to grab your copy of A Touch of Farmhouse Charm!
