How to Create Printables to Grow Your Blog | Learn how to create beautiful printables step-by-step to help you grow your blog and business.
Today is a huge day! I can’t remember ever being so excited and nervous all at once! I created and launched an e-course! It’s called How to Create Printables. I have compiled everything I’ve learned in the past seven years of creating printables, selling them, and using them to grow my blog and business. It is by far the most common question I receive from other bloggers, so I hope that it turns out to be really helpful. I first began planning this course an embarrassingly long time ago. My biggest roadblock was confidence, but as you may know being more confident is my mission this year. I decided I needed to be brave and take the leap because most of all I want to share what has helped me so effectively!
How to Create Printables to Grow Your Blog
Few things have been as impactful to my blogging journey as printables. I came into the blogging world backward, as I sold printables as a business before I began blogging. I started the blog to supplement my business, and then began blogging about our new house… and the rest is history! My blog would have never existed in the first place without printables, and I know they are the number one contributor to its growth.
How have printables helped me grow? There are so many ways!
1. Free Printables Perform Well on Social Media
People love free printables! Some of my highest performing pins on Pinterest and top blog posts are free printables. People always love free things and the convenience of something that can be printed at home can’t be beaten. When you share your printables on your blog and create corresponding social media graphics, you are sure to get great interaction!
2. Free Printables Make Great Opt-In Incentives
Exchanging printables for email addresses has been a game-changer for my email subscriber list, which has surpassed 20k since I created this chart. You can see for yourself how things changed when I set up my printables as opt-in incentives last June!
I was nervous to ask for something in exchange for free printables, but my husband Mack summed it up perfectly. He asked me if I would be providing value in return. The answer, of course, was yes. I would be providing the initial free printable and many future ones once they were subscribed. Now my only regret is not setting up the opt-in incentives sooner!
3. Printables Can Help Build Loyalty With Existing Readers
Speaking of future printables for subscribers, this is a great strategy for keeping your list happy and engaged. I want my subscribers to see the benefits of reading my emails, so I continually send new printables as they are released, directly to their inbox. Additionally, they always have access to my Free Printables Library, where they can easily download all of the printables I’ve ever offered. (Psst… are you a subscriber yet? If not, click here!)
4. Selling Printables Can Provide You with Passive Income
If you become a pro at designing and creating free printables, the natural next step is to create a paid product. There are a lot of benefits to selling printables and other digital products, but the best part is that they are a great source of passive income. That means that you can put some great systems in place to sell your product initially, but then your sales are on autopilot. You will have to keep your finger on the pulse of the product to make sure it stays fresh, but you will be able to consistently collect income in the meantime.
