This classic fall mantel has simple and affordable decor that can be used year after year to give you fall mantel ideas and help you decorate your home for autumn.
In my last post, I shared the adorable happy fall owl watercolor print and in this post, I’ll show you the other half of our fireplace built-ins, including our classic fall mantel! I’m sharing today as part of the Seasonal Simplicity Series hosted by my friend Krista of The Happy Housie! You can find even more fall mantel ideas and inspiration at the bottom of the post.
Classic Fall Mantel
The fresh pumpkins are just now becoming available in stores nearby, so I vowed this year to use mostly decorations from years past to create my fall mantel and style my shelves.
The leaf garland actually came from the dollar store! I’ve had it for years and it’s still bright, colorful, and perfectly pretty.
The mercury pumpkin was a Homegoods find years ago. However, I was recently in Marshalls and saw an assortment of mercury pumpkins and other gourds!
Fall Mantel Ideas
I know that the idea of going out every season and buying new decor isn’t always realistic. I hope that you are inspired by the idea that you can create something new from what you already have by using it a little differently. This garland is several feet long and has always been used around a door- but I love it curled up on the mantel! The craft store acorns tucked here and there are the perfect addition.
Happy decorating! I hope this classic fall mantel inspired your own fall mantel ideas!
Today I’m excited to be joining a group of over 30 other talented bloggers who are also sharing a Fall Mantel or Vignette with you!

Love your mantel and I’m so glad you used things you already had.
I love the painting over your mantel. Who is the artist?
Hi, Jean! It’s one of my grandfather’s paintings.
Beautiful mantel design Nina. Thanks for taking part in this hop!
So pretty, Nina. I love those fall colours.
