The glow of twinkle lights within green branches is one of my very favorite sights. It seems surreal that this most wonderful season is upon us again, but I am very glad. There’s a special peace to this time of the year (especially after all of the chaos of shopping and deadlines is over), and I can’t wait to soak it up.
For years I’ve had my eye on a Balsam Hill artificial Christmas tree. When they reached out and asked me if I wanted to decorate one of their trees this year, I jumped at the chance.
I chose the 6.5′ Noble Fir. It is the perfect size for our dining room. Assembling and fluffing this tree to perfection was an oddly therapeutic task, and I was just so pleased and impressed by the quality as the tree came together. Until you really get up close and begin inspecting the branches, you’d never know this tree wasn’t real. Mack walked in and asked how I had gotten a live tree so early!
I was also able to pick out the French Country Ornament Set and Champagne Metallic Berry Picks. Mixed with some of my own rustic wood ornaments, these neutral heirloom-quality pieces are sure to make an appearance on our tree every year. The timeless and beautiful mercury glass of the ornaments is the perfect preview into the rest of the room.
Mixed amongst all of these elegant and sturdy ornaments are these humble glitter and glass pieces. These ornaments were purchased for the first tree Mack and I had ten years ago, and remain some of my favorite ornaments- I don’t think they’ve ever been passed over a single year. They are simple in a beautiful way and remind me of how far we’ve come. They cost $1.99 at a local discount store. I remember being extremely budget-conscious but determined to try to decorate our little rental home as beautifully as I could.
My favorite part of the day is when it gets dark enough for the lights to twinkle.
The glittery glass and lights is mesmerizing, and I love watching the kids as they take it all in.
I hope you enjoyed seeing this tree and getting a little sneak peek into our Christmas Dining Room!
