Sometimes it’s hard to find fresh pumpkins early on in the autumn, so these simple early fall kitchen decorating ideas take advantage of the abundant produce of August and September.
Today I’m going to share some of my favorite simple early fall kitchen decorating ideas as part of the Seasons of Home Holiday Series hosted by Kristen of Ella Claire. You can visit the bottom of the post for more inspiring fall kitchens!
Simple Early Fall Kitchen Decorating Ideas
You may agree with me, I find that my decor evolves as the season progresses. In the early fall, I find it a little difficult to dive into the pumpkins and pops of orange and yellow and red. Our produce is just a bit behind here in New England, so the pretty real heirloom pumpkins won’t be out for a week or two!
That’s completely fine, since I love sunflowers, and those are abundant right now! We also have plenty of fresh early fall produce like apples and peaches and pears.
This right here is my reason for wanting to decorate in the first place. Making meaningful memories is my whole purpose behind decorating and homemaking! My daughter loves to help me bake and is endlessly fascinated by anything happening in the kitchen. I was fully prepared to have her take after her big brothers and be constantly on the go, but she’s already more interested in playing house and cooking.
In a couple of weeks, I will swap the yellow sunflowers and red and green produce for soft oranges and browns and other earthy colors.
We were having fun mixing up the filling for the mini pumpkin pies I shared yesterday!
To sum it up, here are my favorite simple early fall kitchen decorating ideas:
- Use fresh seasonal produce. Functional decor is the best!
- Embrace the colors of early summer. You have plenty of time for the traditional fall colors!
- Light a yummy candle. I love this one from Antique Candle Works!
