This week in the laundry room was all about hunting and gathering the cabinets and other accessories to finish up the project. I’ve heard that this is the toughest week of the challenge, but I kind of felt like it was when everything came together- finally! As I mentioned at the beginning, this project had stagnated for us, and this challenge was just the motivation we needed to see it through.
We took our planned trip to IKEA this past week. Unfortunately, in spite of our good intentions, there will still be a return trip. Our sink was not in stock by the time we arrived, so we will be driving back this week to pick one up. I did get to check it out in person for the first time. While we have had two of the double-bowl Domsjo sinks (which I’ve written about here), I had never seen the single bowl. I really like it!
The night after our trip we began assembling the Hemnes bookcases, which will be installed in the closet.
In the process, I realized I somehow mismeasured, and there is only about 22″ between the wardrobe (not yet assembled) and the two bookcases. I really don’t have many clothes (I’ve been trying to stick to a capsule wardrobe), and we do have a whole second closet across the hall- so I think we are just going to go with it.
I also ordered some miscellaneous items for the room- like the light fixture and the roman shade. Those should be coming in before my next update. Stay tuned!
